Create a space

Start a new space from one of your space types in two steps.

Every space is created from a space type — a reusable template that governs which playbooks can run in the space and how its knowledge graph is built from your files. Creating a space is a two-step wizard: pick the type, then name the space.

Start a new space

You can begin from either place:

  • On the Spaces list, click New space.
  • In the sidebar, use New space.

Both open the new-space wizard.

1

Choose a space type

The first step reads “Choose a space type to create your space from.” Each space type is a card showing its title and identifier. Pick the one your work belongs to.

If no space types exist yet, you’ll see No space types yet. Admins get a Create a space type action; if you’re not an admin, you’re told a space type is needed first — ask an admin to add one. See Space types.

2

Name the space

Enter a Space title — for example, “Q3 finance close” — then click Create space. Use Back to return to the type picker.

The space opens to its Files tab, ready for you to upload files.

The space type decides which playbooks are available to run and how the knowledge graph is extracted from your documents. You can’t change a space’s type after creation, so pick the one that matches the work.

If you have no space types

The empty state on the Spaces list reads No spaces yet — “Create a space from one of your space types to get started.” A space type must exist before any space can be created. Admins can create one under Space types; everyone else should ask an admin to set one up.
