Create a space

Start a new space from one of your space types in two steps.

Every space starts from a space type. A space type is a reusable template. It controls which playbooks can run in the space. It also controls how the platform builds the knowledge graph from your files. A two-step wizard creates the space: select the type, then name the space.

Start a new space

Start from one of two places:

  • On the Spaces list, click New space.
  • In the sidebar, click New space.

Both open the new-space wizard.

1

Choose a space type

The first step reads “Choose a space type to create your space from.” Each space type shows as a card with its title and identifier. Select the type that matches your work.

If no space types exist, the wizard shows No space types yet. Admins get a Create a space type action. If you are not an admin, ask an admin to add a space type. See Space types.

2

Name the space

Enter a Space title, for example “Q3 finance close”. Click Create space. Click Back to return to the type picker.

The space opens on its Files tab. You can now upload files.

The space type controls which playbooks can run. It also controls how the platform extracts the knowledge graph from your documents. You cannot change a space’s type after creation. Select the type that matches the work.

If you have no space types

The empty state on the Spaces list reads No spaces yet — “Create a space from one of your space types to get started.” A space type must exist before you can create a space. Admins can create one under Space types. Other users must ask an admin to create one.
